Retail sales assistant

Yorkshire Trading Company are a growing family owned and run business with 26 stores throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire & the North East; a busy ecommerce operation and Outdoor Events teams who trade nationwide.

We now require part time Retail Sales Assistants to join our teams in:
Richmond, Ripon, Catterick, Penrith, Morpeth, Whitby, Northallerton, Newark and Skegness

16 hrs over 4 days on a rota basis to include weekends and occasional early start

14 hrs Saturday / Sunday Weekend only

We are looking for competitive Retail Sales Assistants to help customers identify and purchase products. Sales assistant duties include but are not exhaustive, selling, restocking, merchandising and cash handling.

Our goal is to provide high class customer service and to increase company’s growth and revenue through sales maximisation

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Maintain a fully stocked store
  • Ascertain customers’ needs and wants  
  • Welcome and greet customers
  • Process sales through our Epos till system - Training given
  • Actively involved in receiving deliveries
  • Keep up to date with product information
  • Accurately describe product features and benefits
  • Follow all companies policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Previous retail experience would be beneficial 
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service focus
  • Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
