White Spirit is a popular solvent which is used for general purpose cleaning and degreasing. It is also an excellent thinner and tool/brush cleaner for alkyd based paints. White Spirit is more suitable for paint thinning than other solvents as it will not affect the drying time of oil based paints.

This particular bottle of white spirit from Bartoline has a 750ml capacity and meets BS.245 standards.
