Garden Treasures Onion Ailsa Crag Seeds

A superb variety producing large, globe shaped onions with rich gold skins and a mild flavour. Often grown for exhibitions, they can be sown in spring and autumn.  The quality, large, globe shaped bulbs have a rich, golden, straw coloured skin and an excellent mild flavour.

Indoor Planting 

Sow seeds 1.5cm deep direct in trays of moist compost, be careful not to over water and store in a warm place. Plant out in desired location in April, harden off first.

Outdoor Planting 

Sow seeds 1.5cm deep direct in growing bed and keep the soil moist and be careful not to over water. When large enough to handle thin to 9'' (25cm ) apart. Keep free from weeds and when the leaves are yellow, bend over tops.
