You need a few basics to keep your dog clean and comfortable. We’d recommend a brush and some shampoo at the very least, but you may also want to keep ear cleaning solution, a toothbrush, and microfiber towels for easy drying after washing.

Start by wetting your dog thoroughly with warm water, then apply a dog-safe shampoo from neck to tail, gently massaging it into the fur and skin while avoiding the eyes and ears. You should always rinse until the water runs clear as leftover product can cause irritation on sensitive skin.

It totally depends on their coat and lifestyle. As a general rule of thumb, a good wash every 4-6 weeks is a good idea – anymore than this and you may strip the natural oils from their skin and cause irritation.

Let’s be honest, your pup will never look as good as if they’ve been to the groomer. But there are a few things you can do to keep them looking and feeling good between appointments, such as regular brushing, occasional bathing, and trimming when needed. Establishing a routine helps keep your dog’s coat healthy and tangle-free.
